A program to enchance the understanding and implementation of Ecological Regenerative Agriculture.
Farmers University has started activities that concern Sweden, Lithuania and Belarus. A pilot test with farms was made in July 2013 with 4 farmers in Järna, Sweden and led to currently ongoing research work concerning actual problem on crop rotation diseases affecting red clover. The next real life test was done in the Thematic Partnership “Building competence for organic agriculture as a key part of Sustainable Food Society” with 7 young students from Sweden, Lithuania and Belarus and 6 practice farms in Sweden involve during summer 2014. This course is repeated in summer 2015 with 5 young students and 5 farms. The partners involved are Aleksandras Stulginskis University (Kaunas, Lithuania), Grodno State Agrarian University (Belarus), International Public Association of Animal Breeders (Belarus), Jordbrukarungdomens Förbund/IRE Sweden (www.juf.se) and BERAS International.
This is a practice based 6 months summer season course for agronomy students and youth with interest in ecological regenerative agriculture in practice (download study plan).
Another element of Farmers University is a 10 module course for farms. The course can be taken at a pace that fits the individual farm and the course modules are designed to help actual improvements on the farm of crop rotation system, manure et.c.. Start with an introduction course 19-20 march on Lovö, by Stockholm, Sweden, financed by the Rural Development Program through the County of Stockholm. (see www.lantbruksradgivning.se)
